Response of Application of Compost Fertilizer Enriched with Trichoderma Harzianum and Arbuscular Mycorrhiza in Saline Soils on the Growth and Yield of Maize

Abstract

Saline soils are one of the most serious problems encountered in sustainable crop cultivation. Utilization of Trichoderma harzianum microorganism which plays a role in the growth and development of corn plants and Arbuscular Mycorrhiza which can increase the growth and quality of plants in saline soils. The research objective was to determine the effect of compost enriched with Trichoderma harzianum and Arbuscular Mycorrhiza on the growth and Yield of maize in saline soils. The research method used factorial pattern with a Completely Randomized Block design (CRBD). The results of the study with treatment, application of compost, Trichoderma harzianum and Arbuscular Mycorrhiza on corn plants had a significant effect on plant height (229.85), number of leaves (13.50), stem diameter (14.79), number of seeds (387.83) , biomass (176.00), fruit weight of corn (163.20), cob weight (20.00), root weight (138.88), root length (34.50), and mycorrhizal infection rate (90%). The combination of the application of compost, Trichoderma harzianum and Arbuscular Mycorrhiza showed very high results for all parameters measured compared to no treatment.
